Lacey is a township in Ocean County NJ. As of a 2018 census it has a population of approximately 29,118. Lacey was incorporated as a township in 1871 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. It was taken from portions of other townships. The township was named after Revolutionary Was Brigadier General John Lacey. Lacey borders Barnegat, Berkeley, Manchester and Ocean Township in Ocean County. It also borders on Woodland Township in Burlington County.
